Our Mission

Scars Into Stars

The mission of Scars Into Stars (SIS) is to serve as a domestic violence rapid response agency for women, teens, men and families experiencing intimate partner violence. We seek to coordinate prevention, intervention, and support services to empower survivors towards recovery and living independently and safely!

About Us

At SIS, our mission is to serve as a domestic violence rapid response agency for women, youth/teens, men and the families of intimate partner violence. we accomplish this mission through the coordination of prevention, intervention, and advocacy services, offering confidential rapid solutions and being a coordinating actor in the network of partner agencies addressing these issues. we pursue this mission with compassion as we seek to enhance safety, increase inter-agency coordination, and prevent further violence. A newly formed nonprofit, focusing on Boston and low-income residents while also providing support to those outside the city, with a launch planned for 2025.

Intimate partner violence alone affects more than 12 million people every year.

Most female victims of intimate partner violence were previously victimized by the same offender at rates of 77% for women ages 18 to 24, 76% for ages 25 to 34, and 81% for ages 35 to 49.

Just under 15% of women (14.8%) and 4% of men in the US have been injured as a result of intimate partner violence that included rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner.

Hello, I'm Elizabeth.

Dealing with domestic violence in the 80s, 90s, and the early 2000s was no easy path. In a time when we couldn't rely on the instant connections of social media and had minimal community support, there was minimal public awareness and education about intimate partner violence.

Scars Into stars, Inc. is committed to addressing and resolving the challenges that victims, survivors, families, and communities facing intimate partner violence encounter when accessing services. We aim to provide real-time assistance to make a positive impact.

We help survivors heal and live independently and safely from abuse, trauma. too educate the community on the many different layers of domestic violence

We Shed light on the fact that domestic violence can affect anyone—women, children, and men—regardless of their background, religion, marital status, educational levels, or socioeconomic status.We highlight the fact that domestic violence can impact individuals of any age and gender, transcending societal distinctions.
